Server: What's In a Name?
We did it! On February 23, 2011 Alt-N Technologies
announced the introduction of
MDaemon® Messaging Server, BlackBerry®
Edition to
59 countries around the globe! Customers in countries where MDaemon,
BlackBerry Edition
is not available have access to the new
MDaemon Pro 12. Both Editions offer feature enhancements to webmail and
other areas. The most notable enhancement is the introduction of a new set
of mobility support for a wide range of smartphones. While the names may
have changed, our commitment to providing our customers with the most
feature-rich, affordable, and secure messaging solutions has not.

Q4 Internet Threats
Trend Report
The Alt-N Technologies/Commtouch
Quarterly Trend Report for Q4 2010 was recently released. The latest
report features statistics and trends on messaging and Web threats. Below
are some highlights:

The average number of daily spam/phishing emails sent was down
in
Q4 to 142 Billion
•
The daily turnover of zombies went down to 288,000
•
Pharmacy ads was once again the most popular spam topic,
though
it dropped to 42% of all spam

Using Non-BlackBerry
Devices with MDaemon Messaging Server, BlackBerry Edition
MDaemon Messaging Server, BlackBerry Edition has been
designed to work seamlessly with BlackBerry smartphones; however, other
devices are also supported using the device's native POP or IMAP client,
MDaemon's built-in SyncML capabilities, and the available

Duplicate Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Notes on
BlackBerry after upgrade to MDaemon Messaging Server, BlackBerry
Edition
If you are receiving duplicates of your calendar events,
contacts, tasks, or notes after upgrading to MDaemon Messaging Server,
BlackBerry Edition, make sure you disable or remove any SyncML programs from
your BlackBerry smartphone.

Enterprise (or BES) Data Plan Not Required When Using
MDaemon BlackBerry Edition
To use the full BlackBerry smartphone synchronization
features, all you need is a BlackBerry personal data plan (sometimes
referred to by a Carrier as a BIS data plan)! This makes MDaemon, BlackBerry
Edition especially attractive to SMBs who want to provide secure access of
company email to employees who bring BlackBerry smartphones to work, in
addition to employees who have a company provided device.

from 3 to 30 and adds a few minor fixes to the recently released version
