WorldClient Login Default Domain

Our users are seeing a strange problem, some of them can login to WorldClient without the @domain part. Some users are required to use their full email address.

Servers require full email address for authentication is NOT checked.

What is strange in in the Webmail*.log file I see these entries:

2021-06-15 17:27:02.532: Bad logon attempt for user user@domainB.com from 10.10.0.20.

User is trying to login with just "user". If said user logs in with full email address: user@domainA.com it works.

Where is the @domainB.com coming from? domainB.com is a really old domain we do not use anymore.

I have done a grep search of the entire mdaemon app folder for "domainB.com" and nothing related shows up, so I have no idea where a setting would be that would try to use domainB.com for this user.

User's Mailbox Domain setting is domainA.com. I've combed over the settings between this user's account and my account, I do not see anything that stands out related. (I can login without the domain extension)

Version: 21.0.2
Theme: Worldclient (unmodified)

domainB.com is in Domains.dat (first entry)

domainB.com is no where in Mdaemon.ini

domainA.com is set as the "default domain" in the Mdaemon GUI.

The users have been added since domainA.com was setup and set as default. They are all set as domainA.com. No one in our users list should be signing in with domainB.com, but I cannot remove it because we need to accept email on a few accounts.

The names are somewhat similar, A="fusion-imaging.com" and B="impactimaging.com".

domainb.com was our default years ago, we converted to domainA.com 2006 timeframe.

After investigating further and countless tests last night, it *sometimes* works. I was able to sign on with said users without the domain extension. Hour later, nope, gotta add the extension. Its really strange.

Hi Matthew,

Since Webmail is seeking a close match from the top of the file, it may be considering this first domain close enough.

Please, carefully, copy and move the [impactimaging.com] section from the Domains.dat file to the bottom of the file.

After you've done this, restart MDaemon.
