Installing Mdaemon 12
Hi
I was running the v11 on a Windows 2008 R2 server, and decided to upgrade to 12.
The installation went fine, but the v12 Mdaemon is unable to start the service. In eventlog it says "The MDaemon service terminated unexpectedly". Not very helpfull.
I tried to uninstall all, and reinstall v12 both with and without the Blackberry support. No difference.
Can anybody give a clue?

Hello Lars,
The MDaemon application may be attempting to prompt
you with a dialog box which can't be seen while running MDaemon as a service in
your version of Windows.
Try navigating to the
\MDaemon\App\ directory using Windows Explorer and double-click
the MDaemon.exe, and see if a dialog box appears. If it does,
complete the steps and then shut down the MDaemon application and try starting
the MDaemon service again.
If you were able to launch the MDaemon application,
but no dialog box appeared, try navigating to Setup |
Preferences... | Windows Service | Click
Remove service | Click OK and allow MDaemon to
restart. Once it restarts, navigate to the same steps again and click
Install service. Does the service start
successfully?

Hello Lars,
I'll be glad to help you with this
also.
Even in MDaemon version 11, on
Windows Vista+, Windows Services are not able to interact with the
desktop; hence you don't see the envelope in the system tray.
Let me know if this is not what you are
seeing.

Thanks for your reply.
Indeed, when running
MDaemon manually, I was asked to activate the software...Hmmm, so I did and
now it starts.
However, it seems to miss the GUI. So now I have a
mailserver that I can't control.
Are you able help on that also?
